Banyan Tree Spa – Banyan Tree Phuket, Thailand

Banyan Tree Spa Phuket
Phuket, Thailand

We all love a world class spa. What do we need to know about yours?

Banyan Tree Spa seeks to offer guests a Sanctuary for the Senses – a place for physical, mental and spiritual renewal. As one of the pioneer oriental spas in Asia, the treatments focus on an exotic blend of ancient health and time-honoured beauty practices. All Banyan Tree Spas focus on a non-clinical and holistic approach based on Asian therapies and emphasizes on a „high-touch, low-tech‟ approach that celebrates the human touch and the use of natural herbs and spices.

This philosophy is cascaded to all therapists who undergo training at the Banyan Tree Spa Academy. Each therapist goes through over 650 hours of theory and practical training encompassing all areas of spa therapy, including the human anatomy, important pressure points, modern and traditional massage techniques, facial applications, properties of various herbs and spices and service standards. In order to maintain the service standards and consistency, all therapists have to go through an annual assessment after completion of their training.

The Banyan Tree Spa Academy Phuket is accredited by Thailand‟s Ministry of Education and Ministry of Public Health. A second academy was established in Bintan, Indonesia in 2003 and is licensed by Indonesia‟s Ministry of Education.

What makes you unique?

Opened in 1995, Banyan Tree Spa Phuket is the flagship outlet for the award-winning spa operator. The 25 spa treatment rooms and pavilions are re-creations of royal Thai salas in their full splendor. Each pavilion is surrounded by a lily pond, providing guests with full privacy as they enjoy a relaxing and invigorating treatment.

Banyan Tree Spa Academy Phuket is also located within close proximity of the spa. Opened in 2001, the Spa Academy provides dedicated training facilities to ensure that all therapists deliver high quality treatments and to cope with our continuing expansion plans. Accredited by Thailand’s education and Public Health Ministries, the Spa Academy trains therapists for over 650 hours of theoretical and practical training.

What do you recommend as the ultimate treatment?

Cheva, a spa treatment created uniquely for Banyan Tree Spa Phuket. The treatment inspired by the Thai word meaning “living”, creates harmony of the body, mind and spirit to enhance overall wellbeing. The professional spa therapists will use a mix of traditional and modern massage techniques to soothe weary muscles. The treatment is rounded off with a body exfoliator to restore skin radiance and a scented coconut cleanser leaving your skin feeling purified.

Another signature treatment is Chevit, also unique to Banyan Tree Spa Phuket. Chevit is a breath of fresh air from the daily hustle and bustle. We invite guests to step back in time to revel in Thai wellness remedies and be comforted by the therapist’s healing touch to release tension and sooth weary muscles.
